One of the key roles of a leader is communicating information to employees, peers, and other  leaders.  To be effective, this information should be clearly structured, concise, and delivered  with confidence.

This engaging workshop will provide techniques to develop an organized presentation that is  customized for a given audience, analyzes best practices for effective presentations, and increases confidence during delivery.  Participants will be able to apply learning through  one-on-one practice and feedback.

This session is presented by Elena Hackney, MEd, owner of EngageMeTraining, who brings  more than 20 years of experience facilitating leadership development.

This is session two of the six-session Essential Skills Every Leader Needs education series. If you'd like to register for the full six-session series, please e-mail CHA Education Services at EducationServices@chime.org.

CHA Issue-Based Forum: Responding to Patients Who Report a Sexual Assault - for Providers
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Location: Live Webinar, Presented at your Facility

Fees:

  • Acute Care Hospital Member: $30
  • Other Member: $30
  • Non-Member: This program is only open to CHA members.

This session is canceled.

The unique needs of a patient who reports a sexual assault often strain an already overburdened healthcare system.  Yet it remains critically important for responding healthcare personnel to understand and address those needs.  It is not enough to be a skilled healthcare professional, one must provide a patient-centered clinical response while remaining an unbiased member of the evidence collection process — all while delivering care as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

CHA is pleased to partner with the Connecticut Office of Victim Services to offer two opportunities for providers to participate in a two-hour virtual training that will provide a background perspective on the care of adolescent and adult patients who report a sexual assault, the importance of consistent care for these individuals, and an explanation of available resources such as the State of Connecticut Technical Guidelines for Health Care Response to Patients Who Report A Sexual Assault

Completion of this course will qualify in satisfying the DPH CME requirements for sexual assault training.

Target Audience:  This training session is designed for providers including physicians, physician assistants, and APRNs (information on a training designed specifically for nursing staff can be accessed here).
