11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Location: Live Webinar, Presented at your Facility

There is no fee for this event.

CHA is pleased to offer a virtual, multi-disciplinary issue-based educational forum to update members on the 21st Century Cures Act.  Join your colleagues for this three-part series designed to provide practical guidance in preparing for the CMS Patient Interoperability and Patient Access Final Rule, and the ONC Information Blocking Final Rule.  These regulations will have a substantial impact on hospital operations when implementation and enforcement begin.

The series will begin with an overview of all 21st Century Cures Final Rules, and include a focused discussion about a major, new e-notifications Condition of Participation, that requires compliance by May 1, 2021.

The second session in the series will focus on the ONC Information Blocking Final Rule including a review of HIPAA Patient Access rules and how they integrate with information blocking, information on the eight regulatory exceptions to this rule, and a discussion on the anticipated immediate impact on current practices.

The third and final session in the series will focus on procedures that hospitals should examine, and various steps to take immediately, to stay on track and meet April and May 1 compliance dates. This session will provide ample time for questions and discussion.

This issue-based-forum is designed for: chief information officers, HIM directors, health information professionals, information security officers, technology leaders, risk managers, compliance officers, in-house legal counsel, healthcare educators, and those interested in implementation strategies.

The three sessions are being held on Wednesday, January 13, January 20, and January 27.

This issue-based-forum is open to CHA members only.

HRO Apparent Cause Analysis - two-day program
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Location: Live Webinar, Presented at your Facility

There is no fee for this event.

This two-day course will focus on how to conduct an Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA).  ACA methodology is used to evaluate and better understand the causes of precursor events at the microsystem level.  Analyzing events using this tool will help direct the front-line leader to the appropriate improvement activities.  This course is for front-line leaders—nursing and physician—and quality managers.  After attending this program, the participant can serve as a local expert and provide coaching on ACAs to others in their setting.

The second session will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Please note: Continuing Education credits are only awarded to those who attend the live session, and not to those who only view the recording.

This session is only offered to CHA HRO members.

Registration for this event is now closed.
