CT Hosptials and Healthcare Reform

Connecticut hospitals are strong supporters of increasing access to coverage through federal healthcare reform.  Hospitals and their affiliated physician organizations are finalizing agreements with insurance plans offered through Access Health CT, the state’s health insurance exchange. 

All CHA member hospitals will be participating in the health insurance marketplace, with a large majority participating with all three health insurance plans provided through Access Health CT.  Connecticut hospitals are committed to giving patients the greatest opportunity to receive covered care anywhere in the state.

Hospitals Participate in Advocacy Day at the Capitol

On April 24, Connecticut hospital nurses, doctors, volunteers, and hospital leaders met with legislators at the Capitol to continue their advocacy in the second 2014 Legislative Session advocacy day at the Capitol.  Though only two weeks remain in the session, legislators are still considering a number of hospital-related issues.

Legislative Session Enters Final Weeks

As the 2014 Legislative Session nears an end, both chambers of the General Assembly spent the better part of the week in session passing bills of interest to each legislative body.  The final weeks of the session will consist of long debates and longer days, leading to the adjournment on midnight, May 7.
