Patient safety is one of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing hospitals today. With Connecticut hospitals, CHA is working to ensure that all patients
receive high quality, safe care. Through partnerships, education and training, safety collaboratives, and data analysis, CHA is promoting and cultivating a culture of
safety and continuous quality improvement across the state. CHA partners with Qualidigm (one of Connecticut's Patient Safety Organizations), the State Department of
Public Health (DPH), the Joint Commission, the National Quality Forum, and other state and national organizations.
Through its Patient Safety Organization
(PSO), CHA is providing leadership and resources for ongoing improvement activities.
CHA's Towards Excellence in Care (TEIC) program provides facilities with quality
improvement services through data collection and analysis of clinical processes and outcomes.
CHA, in partnership with Qualidigm and DPH, has developed a Wallet Medication Card
and questions and answers about patient safety strategies for consumers.
